Wait, so what exactly is ONO?
Not a hotel. ONO is a private, fully furnished apartment, yours for the duration of your stay. No reception, no daily housekeeping, no one knocking on your door. You live here independently and in full privacy, with a straightforward rental agreement that keeps things clear for both sides.
Is a week long enough?
Not at ONO. The minimum stay is 60 days. That’s intentional. This place is designed for the kind of living where you actually settle in, find your coffee spot, learn the neighborhood, stop feeling like a visitor. Two months is where that starts.
Can I actually work from here?
Yes, properly. Real desk, decent chair, fast Wi-Fi. You can actually get work done here, not just check emails from the couch.
What if I don’t want to leave?
It happens. Extensions are often possible, depending on availability. The earlier you mention it the better, it gives us room to make it work. So if you feel it coming, just say something.

If you ever find this place vacant, book it without a second thought.
The location does something rare. The street itself is quiet and entirely local, but walk two streets up and you’re in proper taverna country, with the kind of food you come to Athens for. The metro is four minutes away on the green line, Monastiraki is two stops or a 20 minute walk, Filopappou Hill and the park are five minutes on foot, and the beaches at Vouliagmeni are about 35 minutes out. Everyday life is just as easy; corner store one minute away, supermarket two, 24 hour shop five.
The flat itself is superb, it is spotlessly clean, has loads of storage, and a great bathroom and every amenity properly thought through rather than half provided. Irini, who cleans, is wonderfully kind.
And then there’s Nicole, the landlady. Her guide to the city was the perfect kickstarter for my stay, she’s always available, and she finds a solution whenever something comes up or you land yourself in a pickle. Genuinely lovely to deal with from start to finish.
Consider yourself lucky if you catch this one open. 10/10 , easily.
Neighborhood
Petralona is Athens as Athenians actually live it: quiet, residential neighbourhood on the back of Filopappou Hill, twenty minutes walk from the Acropolis but completely untouched by tourism, with a taverna square two streets away that locals fill every night.
Recommended places nearby
Plenty, and most of them are on foot from the door.
In the neighbourhood itself: Aschimopapo, Aster and Taverna Oikonomou. Proper local tavernas, the kind of food and prices you won’t find anywhere near the Acropolis.
Two metro stops away, around Monastiraki: the best coffee in the city is at Mýller in Psyrri. Linou kai Sia for sophisticated Greek cooking if you want somewhere date worthy. Wine is Fine for a casual dinner and a glass. Birdman for Japanese style skewers and Asahi on tap, or its sister restaurant Ekiben for burgers and excellent Japanese salads and bowls. For the best Acropolis view you’ll get while eating, the rooftop restaurant at the Electra Metropolis hotel. And fifteen minutes’ walk out, Solene, a patisserie with superb coffee during the day (order the freddo espresso) and a wonderful French bistro at night.
One piece of general advice: don’t base yourself around Monastiraki or Syntagma. It’s packed, loud and entirely tourist facing. Staying here you get a real neighbourhood and you’re still two stops from all of it.
